Created on the principal artists of West Australian Ballet, Simplicity is a 4-minute pas de deux set to the original soundtrack of Tron: Legacy by Daft Punk. The work is an ode to the beauty found in simplicity, where the essence of modern ballet takes centre stage. With minimal costuming and a stripped-back setting, the piece allows the purity of movement and the connection between the dancers to speak for itself.
Simplicity was premiere for the West Australian Ballet annual season Genesis.
It was invited the same year to be performed at the second edition of the Shanghai Contemporary Dance Festival and reprised in 2021 as part of Heartache, a collaborative work featured in West Australian Ballet’s Ballet at the Quarry season.
