Signal-30 is an independent neo-classical ballet currently in development, created in response to one of the most urgent environmental issues of our time: the growing scarcity of drinkable water. As climate change intensifies, access to clean, safe water is rapidly declining—a crisis that threatens both Western Australia and the wider global community.
Conceived as a sustainable production, Signal-30 recognises that ballet remains underused in expressing powerful, timely messages. This work confronts the urgency of water scarcity through movement—drawing on the precision, fragility, and force of the form to reflect the delicate balance between survival and collapse.
This new work is a bold step forward for an emerging female choreographer using dance to confront urgent global challenges.
Signal-30 seeks to reinvigorate neo-classical ballet with social relevance, proving that independent dance can speak powerfully to the world we live in.
