Created for the dancers of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) as part of their annual season RISE, In the Arms of Euterpe is a poetic exploration of music’s power to liberate the body and reveal the soul.
Set to the evocative music of Antonio Vivaldi and the virtuosic mandolin artistry of Avi Avital, the piece traces a journey of emotional release—where dancers gradually free themselves through movement, guided by the unseen force of Euterpe, the muse of music and lyric poetry.
As the work unfolds, the dancers’ movement evolves as they respond to the music’s invitation to release, surrender, and transcend.
In the arms of Euterpe invites both performers and audiences to experience the transformative power of music.
