Beyond What Really Matters, ode to Marie Jeanne.

Created for four dancers as part of West Australian Ballet’s Genesis season, Beyond What Really Matters is a 4-minute work that reflects on the essence of life—human connection, simplicity, and presence. Set to Diana Damrau’s Vocalise from Wojciech Kilar’s The Ninth Gate soundtrack, the piece is also a deeply personal tribute to Claire Voss’s grandmother, whose passing during the creation shaped the emotional tone and choreographic language of the work.
